THE Little Athletics season is back underway, with a session at Island Park last Friday to get the next generation of local athletes ready and raring to go for the coming weeks.

HAMILTON Basketball Association held its annual junior tournament on the weekend, with a record number of entries descending on HILAC, The Hamilton and Alexandra College and Monivae College, to battle each other across four age groups in both boys and girls competitions.

COLLEGE has maintained its dominance of Macarthur in the Hamilton and District Cricket Association A grade competition, winning a thrilling game by only six runs at Macarthur Recreation Reserve on Saturday.

A PRELIMINARY note - as the season approached, offers made by clubs to move sides from their early nominations to get rid of all byes was greatly appreciated by the competitions committee and clubs in general.

PORTLAND was unable to back up its Country Basketball League round one win, when they fell to Mount Gambier 77-100 at the Portland Basketball Stadium on Saturday night.
