BYADUK caused an upset on Friday night, defeating Pigeon Ponds in the Hamilton and District Women’s Cricket Association A grade competition.
The two teams entered the round 10 clash equal with four wins, but the Ducks ensured they were the only team to end 2020 in a top four position.
Byaduk won the toss at Christie Oval, sending the visitors in and Elly Polonowita struck immediately, removing Mareeta Cox for a duck.
Paige Murrell wasn’t bothered by the loss of her partner, jumping on the front foot, and going on the attack.
She looked in good touch, hitting boundaries and continuing to play positive cricket, but the same couldn’t be said for the remainder of the line-up.
