Parklander candour

EMPTYING a miserable single millimetre of weekend precipitation from the rain gauge had me musing about weather forecasting, and its similarity with trying to predict what is in store for the next round of golf.

Like the moisture laden approaching front with its promise of rain, so a golfer’s recent form can be the harbinger of an exceptional round - or maybe not.

As the expected multiple millimetres of rain failed to descend from Hamilton’s grey slate sky, so too the promising form of a number of Parklands’ golfers failed to materialise in last week’s competitions.
