Saturday’s championship game was extremely close with Glenyce Kuilboer having to make a golden hoop to prevail over Callinan, 20 hoops to 19.
Three peg outs and one timed out were the results in the other Ricochet games played Thursday morning.
The game between Lorraine Matthey and Sheila Sawyer and Mary Meagher and Helen Bell was timed out with Matthey and Sawyer leading, 24 hoops to 22, Wendy Hobbes pegged out to Elaine Brown and Tim O’Brien, 26 hoops to 18, while Val Wallis and Rhonda Scullion were too strong for Carol Anderson and Vicki Allen, 26 hoops to 16.

JACK WALDRON
HEATHER McIntyre has added another trophy to her cabinet after defeating a gallant Miriam Tonissen in the final of the women’s 100 Up – the last championship event of the season.
Tonissen defeated Carolyn Schurmann in her semi-final, while McIntyre defeated Geraldene McDonald in a thriller.
There were huge entries in social bowls this week.
On Thursday Alan Crane and Fay Gebert were the only three-game winners, while Peter Clapham and evergreen Don Walter were second with two wins and a draw.
On Saturday it was so competitive that nobody won their three games.
Neville Linke, the hard-working secretary, teamed with Geraldene McDonald and youngster, Geoff Elkins, to record two wins and a draw, just ahead of Graham Tonissen, Rob Baker and John McDonald.
Two interesting situations occurred during the week.
On Thursday, Crane took the shot off Tom Storer five times in a row – magnificent bowling, and on Saturday a skipper who is in hiding and wishes to remain anonymous played the worst bowl in the club’s history – attempting to drive out the shot bowl but hitting the kitty instead and sending to a nest of seven bowls held by the opposition.
Member are asked to attend on Thursday to vote on three possible resolutions for pennant changes; a vote will be taken at afternoon tea.
Have you submitted your entry to the prime lamb day on May 7? Don’t miss out.
