THE Heywood Basketball Association had some thrilling action on show on Wednesday night with the men’s competition seeing two of the three games decided in three points or less.
Wednesday night was the only action for the association across the week with the hoops program and the women’s competition cancelled due to a power outage on Monday.
Despite just one night of basketball there was plenty of action with the closest game between Bulls and Lakers decided by just two points, 32-30, in favour of Bulls.
Bulls relied on consistent scoring across their team with Sam Wilson leading the charge with 13 points, including three three-point shots.
A big effort from Lakers player Nathan Hardingham (19 points) kept his side in the match, but they couldn’t get across the line.
• Bucks secured a three-point victory against Cavaliers with a number of players contributing across the court.
Billy Bell and Troy Lovett combined for a total of 25 points, more than half of the team total of 45.
Leigh Malseed was a solid contributor for Cavaliers with 12 points.
• Celtix was led by another big performance from Leon Davis to win 63-31 against Golden State.
21 points from Davis combined with 16 points from Seth Harvey, with Golden State struggling to find a way to slow them down.
The young Golden State line up found the basket through multiple players, Regan Malseed leading the charge with 11 points, but struggled to match their opposition defensively.
