TOMORROW is shaping up to be one of the biggest cup days in Hamilton Harness Racing Club history with a whopping 11 races scheduled.
The day kicks off at 12.31pm with the first race, with the program highlighted by the $35,000 Hamilton Pacing Cup at 4.44pm and the $20,000 Hamilton Trotters Cup at 3.34pm.
Club president, Glenn Parkin said he was excited for what was shaping up to be a great day for the club.
“It is a lot of work but we are starting to get it all in place,” he said.
“We should get quality fields for the two cup races and we have had good support from the locals.
“Heath Bourke from Portland, Mount Gambier is pretty strong as well along with the locals like Rebecca East, the Barkers etc.
“We are trying to make it a friendly day for the whole family.
“We have got a jumping castle for kids and it is free entry, so come along.”
With the track all set and fast times expected, it could see new track records in almost ideal conditions for racing.
“The track was conditioned on Tuesday, they spent a whole day on it and it will be ready to go,” Parkin said.
“Last meet here a horse from Matty Craven went 1.52, which is enormous, it is a very quick track and is good for racing.”
There is also a free bus from Alexandra House which leaves at midday to take people out to the track.
Racing gets underway at 12.31pm with the last race scheduled for 6.23pm.
