BALMORAL was the main beneficiary from round 13 Weekend Pennant results.
Both division one and four sides moved up a rung on the ladder, along with Heywood’s division four side. Score margins were pretty wide and Peter Holmes’ team in division four got the highest score by a fair way.
Division one
THE first game was between Memorial and Penshurst and it was a retribution for the loss to Penshurst in round six by one shot.
This time results were Des Pitts 22 to Cam Wilson 18, Greg Hoggan 26 to David Cook 15, and Ken Evans defeated Trev Landwehr, 17-16, leading to a 65-49 overall win.
Heywood played Grangeburn and in round six the margin was a one-shot victory to the ‘burn.
This time the figures were spread, finishing at 56-66 to Grangeburn.
Lance Price collected two points after a 20-17 defeat of Bert Partington, Ricky Angelino got two more points against Prewey, 24-20, while Mick Swan met Robyn Thomassen in scintillating form and went down, 12-29.
Portland easily accounted for Hamilton by 42 shots, thanks to Lindsay Gruar’s 22-15 win against Bill Satchell, Bob Bowden 28 to Richard Martin 14, and Peter Cottier 29 to Norm Pech eight.
Hamilton had enough points to stay on top of the ladder despite the loss.
Balmoral played Casterton and the margin was 30, after Derek Brody was defeated by Andy Alderton, 19-23, Pegleg rolled up 32 to Styx Russell 10, and Nev Trotman 29 to Neil Shannon 17.

The final home and away round has Hamilton v Memorial, Balmoral at home to Heywood, Grangeburn v Penshurst and Portland will travel to Casterton.
Division two
THE margins in all games were 27, 24 and 37, with no close contests.
Portland Gold travelled to Hamilton to play the Gold side there and it was the visitors claiming a 27-shot victory to retake top rung after three rounds in second.
Maurice Jolly 18 to John Rappard 20, Trev Schultz 14 to Barry Huppatz 26, and Alan Crane 13 to Tom Alexander 26, with Hamilton Gold going down, 45-72.
Memorial had a 24-shot win over Hamilton Green, 76-52, Gerry Watt 26 to Denis Gay 17, Leonie Buchanan 30 to Maxi Spiller 14, and Peter Fasoli 20 to Edwin MacLean 21.
Portland Blue set up for a Macarthur visit and Blue had a pretty good result for the side with a 79-42 win.
Leigh Hoffman 32 to Anthony Bourke 16, Allan Palmer 20 to Jeannie Schroeder 19, and Andy Smail 27 to Clifton Tonissen seven.

Division three
THE merry go round has almost got to the last revolution.
This was the fourth time sides had played each other and Hamilton claimed victory against Coleraine, after Graeme Wallis lost on the last end to Vern Spencer, 17-18, Bill Edge and Bruce Armstrong were close all day before Edge won, 18-16, while Heather McIntyre played Steve Cooper and got the win, 26-8.
Grangeburn scored 55 to Memorial 47 and the result sheet was accompanied by, ‘finally a win – yahoo’.
Nettie Ryan 20 to Tink Imbi 17, Keven Bailey 21 to Terry Stanley 12, and John Colcott 14 to Jude Fasoli 18.
Ladder: Hamilton 123, Coleraine 116, Grangeburn 92, and Macarthur 85.

Division four
PENSHURST was in peril, as Balmoral and Heywood moved up to rungs three and four, pushing Penshurst down to fifth.
Balmoral has been in the four all season, Penshurst for eight rounds and Heywood gets in for the first time, while Dartmoor and Coleraine have been top and second for a long time.
Dartmoor more than doubled Hamilton Green’s score, as Peter Holmes with Neil Murrell, Anthony Paris and Phil Jones put together the high score mentioned earlier, 37, to Nev Blackmore’s team 13, and Redeye with sore ribs defeated Peter Anson, 22-13, which led to a 59-26 victory.
Coleraine and Casterton battled and the home side maintained top spot, winning 44-36.
Individual results were Robin Salamon 20 to Charlie Palmer 19, and Arthur Guy 24 to Teresa Sealey 17.
Penshurst was defeated by Heywood, 32-43, and that facilitated the major ladder reshuffle.
Basil Eales nine to Jan Hamblin 31, and Bret Linke 23 rescued two points after defeating Thelma Hoggan 12.
Hamilton Gold battled away against Balmoral, and after being a long way behind got back to within 10 shots.
Cliff Brinkman 11 to Paul Raggatt 26, and Norm Schwarz 21 to Ben McPhee 16.
