THE Hamilton Running Club had a team of more than 50 people travel south to participate in the Port Fairy Marathon Festival last weekend.
With the close proximity to Hamilton, the event typically draws many locals, with events including the 2.5km, 5km, 10km, half marathon and marathon, with the club represented in each of those categories.
The club was also successful for the third year in a row, claiming the group prize to come away with a $500 cash prize.
The running club also presented the volunteers at the Port Fairy Running Club with two free tickets to the upcoming event, The Running Summit - with Lucy Bartholomew (16 - 17th March in Dunkeld), as a token of appreciation to the event volunteers for putting on such a great event.
Club member, Narelle Frichot said it was always fun to travel to Port Fairy for the event.
“We love supporting the Port Fairy event and share in the success of our club members who have trained hard for this event,” she said.
“We're looking forward to The Running Summit in a few weeks’ time, where we will share a weekend of running through the Grampians, workshops and a social evening.”
