A FIELD of 43 bowlers resplendid in their green and gold uniforms entered for the official opening day celebrations on Saturday.

Board chairman, Gavin Wallis, declared the new season open announcing that it was our 141st opening, the first held on October 24, 1884, when the then President declared the greens were Capital.
