Hurricanes bow to Seahawks

HAMILTON Hurricanes came up short against Warrnambool Seahawks at Hamilton Indoor Aquatic and Leisure Centre on Sunday, 57-73.

The Hurricane have been much improved this season despite not posting a win to date, as the side took the game right up to Warrnambool right from the opening tip off.

By the end of the first quarter the score was locked together at 15 apiece, but the visitors took command in the second term and opened a nine-point lead at the main break.

The third quarter saw the home side rebound back into the contest and the Hurricanes scored bucket-for-bucket with the Seahawks in a defence dominated term, but the lead increased by one point at the final change, 41-51.

Warrnambool finished stronger in the final quarter, but Josh Miller once again showed his class with 23 points while Jakob Greaves, Joel Le Roy, and Bailey Cooper each added seven points to the Hurricanes total in support.

The Hurricanes play their final home game on Saturday night against Colac.
