THE Hamilton and District Cricket Association D grade got a late shake-up with Macarthur promoted to BC grade after winning all but one game, with Coleraine taking over top spot.
The Maroons have started the season well, and hold off second-placed College by net run rate.
College skipper, Martin Clark, is among the runs again this season, smashing 231 runs at an average of 46.2 to lead the way, while Tahara’s Harry Goodman is the only other batsman to reach 200, scoring 205 at an average of 51.25.
The bowlers have enjoyed a strong first half of the season with Hamilton’s Jay Casey and Pigeon Ponds’ Andrew Colgan sharing top honours to date with 10 wickets apiece.
Casey holds top spot by way of his 7.9 average, while Colgan isn’t far off with 10.4.
Grampians are flying under the radar but is pushing up the ranks to third, while the Drews sit fourth despite having to forfeit their clash against Coleraine in round six.
Ponds are equal on points with St Andrew’s, but a negative net run rate keeps the team in fifth, with Hamilton and Tahara the only other teams likely to make a push for a possible top four spot leading into finals.
The D grade season resumes on January 13, with eight rounds remaining before finals.
