PORTLAND’S Hampden Football League season reached an exhilarating new high on Sunday afternoon with the Tigers burying the Hamilton Kangaroos by 101 points.
Portland had every reason to feel confident heading into the Anzac Day clash – fresh from a win against Port Fairy, the Tigers entered the match with the same record as the Kangaroos – one win and one loss.
What followed however went beyond confidence – with the Tigers winning, 20.14 (134) to 4.9 (33).
From start until finish it was a relentless attacking performance from the Tigers with extreme midfield pressure constantly forcing the ball forward regardless of whether or not the clearance was won.
