LOCAL football and netball clubs are set to benefit with the Hamilton Kangaroos and Coleraine Football Netball Clubs set to get a financial boost ahead of the 2023 season.
The Kangaroos will receive $2500, to go towards new jumpers for the women’s team and the junior girls team for the upcoming Western Victoria Female Football League campaign.
Coleraine will receive $2500 as well, with the funds set to go towards the club’s courtesy bus maintenance and to subsidise membership costs for members.
Portland Football Netball Cricket Club is also among the local clubs to benefit, set to receive $7500 to go towards resourcing the junior team and purchase new jumpers.
The trio of clubs are part of a group of 151 clubs which will benefit from the TAC Club Rewards Program funds.
Head of AFL Victoria, Ben Kavenagh said the financial benefits were important for clubs, but the bigger message of road safety should also be at the forefront of people’s minds.
“Our clubs are the heart of Victorian communities, and once again we are proud to stand alongside the TAC to be leading these conversations, which we hope will help reduce the incidents of road trauma and ensure that everyone gets home safely,” he said.
