IT was a positive day on the netball courts for the Hamilton Kangaroos during the first weekend of Hampden Football Netball League finals, with five wins and a one-goal loss.
The Kangaroos made light work of Koroit in the Division 1 qualifying final, winning 38-31, at Friendly Societies Park.
Kelsey Lewis top-scored with 20 goals for the Roos, who will now face Port Fairy in Saturday’s second semi-final, while Koroit will face North Warrnambool Eagles on Sunday after the Eagles defeated Cobden, 36-30.
Hamilton’s Division 2 side remains alive after a three-goal victory against the Saints in Sunday’s elimination final at Cobden Recreation Reserve.
The blue and white will face Warrnambool on Sunday after the Blues lost their qualifying final to North Warrnambool Eagles.

The Kangaroos fell by one goal in the 15-and-Under Reserves elimination final to Warrnambool, while the Bloods got the better of the Saints, 20-14.
Koroit fell to the Roos by four goals in the 13-and-Under qualifying final, setting up a second semi-final clash between Hamilton and South Warrnambool on Saturday.
Sunday’s elimination final saw Cobden progress with an 18-15 win against Camperdown.

Camperdown got the better of South Warrnambool in the 17-and-Under qualifying final, winning 31-27, while the elimination final saw the Bombers account for Terang-Mortlake, 38-26.
The 17-and-Under Reserves qualifying final was a thrilling contest, with Koroit edging out Warrnambool to win, 17-15, while the elimination final saw Camperdown defeat Cobden, 27-20.

HAMILTON sat out the first weekend of Under-18 finals as minor premiers and will face South Warrnambool in Saturday’s second semi-final after the Roosters thumped Warrnambool by 71 points.
Camperdown edged out Portland in the elimination final by two points.
North Warrnambool Eagles and Terang-Mortlake won the senior qualifying and elimination finals respectively against Warrnambool and Koroit.
The Blues were knocked out of reserves contention, losing the elimination final to Terang-Mortlake, and the Eagles defeated Cobden in the qualifying final.
