SEVIOR TOPS HFNL JUNIOR VOTE COUNT

The Hampden Football Netball League recognised its best junior athletes on Monday night with the vote counts for both football and netball staged at the Warrnambool Racing Club.

Hamilton Kangaroos celebrated success this season with Molly Sevior finishing equal first (alongside Lexie Dwyer from Port Fairy) on 28 votes in the 13-and-Under netball grade, while Kangaroos teammate, Maddox Ryan, finished fourth with 24 votes in a strong season for the blue and white side.

In the 13-and-Under reserve grade, Maya Carroll (13 votes) finished in fifth place.

The Roos cheered on Ella Sevior (32 votes), who finished runner-up in the Rebekah Moroney Memorial Medal for the 17-and-Under grade, finishing six votes shy of Koroit’s Scarlett O’Donnell after a very good individual season.

In football, Hugh Fitzgerald (19 votes) finished runner-up in the Doug McConnell Medal for the Under-16s to Sam Rhodes (South Warrnambool – 30 votes), while Harry Mercer finished equal third in the Under-14 Stuart Brunt Medal with 23 votes, just five short of winner Oliver Turner (Warrnambool) on 30 votes.
