Rams seek six straight as Bombers loom

GLENTHOMPSON-DUNKLED is seeking to make it six wins in succession when they travel to Penshurst Recreation Reserve today to battle its long-time rivals in the Mininera and District Netball Association match of the round.

Despite not being able to reach the final five, the Rams have been the form side of the competition with their winning streak stretching back to June 3 in round eight as they have accounted for every opponent in the last five rounds.

In the same period, the Bombers have a record of three wins and two losses, but the home side will play finals if they can account for Lismore-Derrinallum and Ararat in the next two rounds as well as the Rams today..

Penshurst is sixth at present, equal on points with the Demons but just out of fifth spot on percentage and no doubt will be looking to take a percentage boosting victory this afternoon.

Going by ladder position the home side should win easily but the visitors are on a roll and will seek to dent the finals aspirations of their hosts.

Other games

HAWKESDALE-MACARTHUR will cement its finals place with a comfortable victory against Caramut at Caramut Recreation Reserve today.

Currently sitting on the fourth rung of the ladder and a game clear of fifth place, the Eagles should account for the Swans by a good margin to help boost their percentage, while Caramut will love nothing more than to knock off a top five team.

LISMORE-DERRINALLUM will take one step closer to securing a top five finish when they host Great Western today at Lismore Recreation Reserve.

Currently fifth on the ladder by percentage from Penshurst, the Demons must continue to win to remain in finals contention as the Bombers will swoop in to claim that final spot if they get the opportunity.

TATYOON made a statement to the rest of the competition last round when the undefeated ladder leaders thrashed second placed Ararat by 15 goals to all but claim the minor premiership with four rounds to play.

The Hawks would have to come to a screeching halt to lose top spot from here and that will not happen as they travel to Mininera Recreation Reserve this afternoon to play SMW Rovers.

ARARAT hosts Moyston-Willaura at Alexandra Oval this afternoon and after dropping its last game to Tatyoon the Eagles will be keen to climb on board the winning bandwagon again against the lowly Pumas.

With games against Penshurst and Lismore-Derrinallum to come in the final two rounds, the Eagles cannot afford to lose any games between now and the finals as they will drop down the ladder.
