A FIELD of 52 men and 13 women played in the Saturday stableford competition.
Nick Strauss visited from Sorrento Golf Club and had a day out, finishing well clear of the field with an amazing 47 points off a handicap of 14 to win A grade.
Strauss played with his son, Edward, and mother-in-law, Sandra Colclough, who collected a win, topping the women’s scores with 37 points.
Runner-up in A grade was Mark Williams with 36 points ahead of Brent Bell who claimed third on a countback with 34.
B grade was won by Scott Anderson with 34 points from Jamie Caruana’s 33 on a countback from Barry Raymond.
Balls down the line – Tim Lloyd 34, John Warden, Les Lloyd, Tony O’Connor, Phil Scultz, Cameron McDonald 33 points, Steven Coate, Gary McFarlane and Mal Groves 32pts.
Runner-up to Colclough in the women’s field was Tania Cullinane on a countback from Judy Thornton after both finished with 36 points.
Nearest the pins went to Pam White and Tim Lloyd on the third, Thornton and Kim Fielke on the sixth, Zac Elliott on the 13th, Margie Hadley and Paul Ryan on the 16th and Steven Coates hit the closest second shot on the 15th.
Wednesday
WEDNESDAY’S par competition attracted 53 women with Rosemary Belcher claiming player of the day and C grade winner with a very handy +5.
A grade honours went to Robyn Holcombe +2, ahead of runner-up, Alma Fonda, on a countback with +1.
Kath Hartwich topped B grade with +2, one shot ahead of Sally Robertson, while Eileen Robertson was runner-up to Belcher in C grade with +2.
Ball run down went to Ath Archer +1, Bronwyn Dwight, Jo Forsyth, Debbie Milne and Rhonda Dunbar all finishing square.
Nearest the pins went to Di Raymon on the third, Dunbar on the sixth, Robertson on the 16th, while the longest putt on the 13th was won by Gail Dimond, and Jeanette Carmichael hit the closest second shot on the 15th.
The women will be hosting Division 1 and Division 4 Pennant at the golf course on Monday, so the course will be closed between 9am and 1pm; good luck to all our Hamilton players.
The women will be hosting their annual President’s Gala Day on May 11 and it is a partners Pinehurst event.

Tuesday Beginners and Emerging Golfers
IT was a busy day with 16 players venturing out for our Tuesday beginner and emerging golfers group and some wonderful scores were returned in perfect conditions.
Winner of the beginners was Joanna Austin with 28 points, ahead of Prue Evans 26, Leigh Coggins, Di Austin and Jen Upton on 22.
The Emerging winner was Chantal Butcher with 22 points from Di Mackay 22 and Lisa Murphy 21.
Next week the groups are looking forward to a visit from golfing professional, Daniel Defelice, who will be doing bunkers, chipping and putting out on the course.
