A FIELD 39 men and five women played in Saturday’s stableford event.
The overhead conditions were fine and the course was good, enabling some better scores.
Men’s results saw Robert Stagoll claim top spot with 37 points on a countback from Andrew Bowman, with Mal Groves taking out third spot with 36.
Balls down the line went to Chuck Raymond 35 points, Terry Dunn, Mark Williams, Greg Anders 34, Kynan Caruana 33, Brent Bell 32, Nathan Caruna and John Mitchell 31, Robert Fishburn and Michael Holcombe with 30 on countback.
In the women’s results, the scores weren’t great but Elaine Rentsch took top spot with 25 points from Sue Vickery on 22.
Nearest the pins went to Jim King on the third, John Matthews on the sixth, Robert Stagoll on the 13th, and Anders on the 16th.
The closest second shot on the 15th went to Chuck Raymond.
Tuesday
OUR beginners and emerging golfers finally got back on the course this week, with six players participating with a revised course layout.
Lisa Murphy won with 26 points from Alex Ferguson on 24.

Wednesday
A WHOPPING 116 ladies participated in the annual Pink Day – a fundraiser for anti-cancer - with money donated to Western District Health Service’s cancer unit to purchase equipment for patient care.
It is always a great day, especially seeing a sea of women dressed in pink on the golf course, supporting a cause very close to our hearts.
Visitors from Axedale, Bega, Casterton, Willaura, Warrnambool, Mooralla, Parklands, Port Fairy, Heywood, Timboon, Grampians, Terang, East Framlingham, Lake Bolac, Horsham, Balmoral and The National Golf Club attended the day.
The event was a 4BBB stableford, with a very close finish late in the day, as Jen Pike and Anne Ryan topped the ranks with 46 points on a countback.
The pair held off Deb Pinniger and Willaura’s Larelle McInnis to claim overall honours.
Sally Robertson and Rose Tonissen finished third with 45 points, fourth went to Kerry Scales (Axedale) and Lyn Satchell on a countback with 44 points from Heather Walcott (Warrnambool) and Gerri Griffin with sixth place going to Chantal Butcher and Bec Small on 43.
Nearest the pins went to Alma Fonda and Leanne Owen on the third, Ryan and Danni Gobbo on the sixth, Sue Sambell on the 13th and Pam Howell and Irene Box on the 16th.
Nearest the string on fifth was Lyn Hayes and Ro Menzel.
Longest putt on 18th went to Sue Storer and Leanne Dyson.

TWILIGHT golf has resumed on a Wednesday evenings, hitting off from 4pm onwards.
Twilight golf is open to everyone, including non-handicapped and non-members and is a great opportunity to get into the game of golf.
Sunday golf is kicking off again with a 4BBB event being played on October 23, 11am for 11.30am shotgun start.
