SATURDAY’S 18-hole stableford event held a new challenge for members, playing the new reversal holes seven and eight, which caused some frustration among some golfers.
George Donaldson won with 34 points, two clear of runner-up, Marie Cook, with Stewart Turner in third with 31, Graeme Torney fourth with 30 and Gaye Goggin returned with 27 to finish fifth.
Nearest the pins went to Allan Flavell on the second and 13th, closest second shot on the third went to Torney, while Steve Nattrass saluted on the 11th, with George Donaldson getting nearest on the 15th.
Longest putts went to Russell Murphy on the first and 18th, Cook on the 16th and Alex Walter on the 17th.
Longest, straight drive on the ninth was shared between Cook and Donaldson.
Friday
PLAYERS were treated to ideal conditions and a fairly dry course, which added to a good round of a nine-hole stroke event on the old nine.
Walter saluted with 35.5 to finish clear of Bruce Taylor, who returned with 39.
Turner collected the longest putt and birdies and ferrets novelties.
Wednesday
THE 12-hole stableford event was held over the inward nine and holes one, two and nine, with Taylor winning with 24 points, five clear of Walter.
Barry Oldaker was nearest the pin on the 13th, while Walter struck the longest putt on the first.
Birdies and ferrets went to Turner.
