Bunker shots

LAST Saturday was meant to be a two-person ambrose event, but due to the very wet conditions the event was cancelled.

Eli Potts and Shannon Kearns were the only ones to finish the 18 holes, and they did have a credible score considering the tough conditions of 72.75 nett.

The only other pair to take to the course were Jackson Hay and Kynan Caruana, who got through seven holes before pulling up stumps.

Wednesday

A FIELD of 27 women played stableford in very windy conditions.

Gerri Griffin had the best score of the day with 34 points to win A grade from Cheryl Brinkmann on 31.

B grade was won by Joan Lewis with 30 from Lisa Murphy 29.

Balls down the line went to Dawn Cay, Debbie Milne and Jo Forsyth, who all scored 30 points.

Nearest the pin on third hole was Liz Nichol, while Lyn O’Brien holed the longest putt on the 13th, and Chantal Butcher struck the closest second shot on the 15th.

Next Wednesday will be a stableford event with our emerging golfers joining the field.

This will be followed by soup and rules discussion.

Tuesday

THE beginner and emerging golfers had great weather for their competition.

In the beginners group Jo Bailey put together a fantastic performance to score 23 points and claim the win ahead of Kris Fox on 22.

In the emerging group Jan Hornell finished with 19 to win from Alan McLaughlin 18.

Jill Walkenhorst won the nine-hole competition with 15.
