A STRONG field of 55 men contested the August Monthly Medal with some very good scores recorded.
Kynan Caruana returned the best score of the day with 81 (13) 68 nett to take out the Monthly Medal.
A grade was won by Jason McIntosh with a nett 69 with Terry Dunn runner-up two shots off the pace.
B grade was won by Kim Fielke with 69 nett, finishing one ahead of runner-up, Paul Ryan.
Ball run down went to Bruce Luhrs 70 nett, Ken Wright and Eli Potts 71, Jim King, John Hill and Cameron McDonald 72, Shane Ryan, Bevon Zimmermann and Graham Rentsch 73 nett.
Nearest the pin and superpin winner on the third hole was Jim King, who took home $78.
The other nearest the pin winners were Caruana on the sixth, Mal Graoves on the 13th, and Andrew Henstridge on the 16th.
The closest second shot on the ninth went to Eli Potts and Jason Chandler on the 15th.
The women were also in action with 16 registering for Saturday’s round.
Enid Smith won on a countback from Cheryl Brinkmann, after both finished with 74 nett.
Ball run down went to Jenny Edwards 76 nett, Pam White 77 nett, Joan Lewis 78 nett and Debbie Milne 79 nett.
Nearest the pin on the third hole was won by Alma Fonda, the sixth went to Anne Ryan, and White on the 16th.
The closest second shot on the 15th was won by Kerryn Price.
Wednesday
THERE was a good turn out with 42 players participating in the women’s stableford competition.
The A grade winner and best score of the day went to Brinkmann with 39 points, three ahead of runner-up, Marg King.
B grade was won by Lisa Murphy who is continuing her great form, finishing the round with 36 points to hold off runner-up, Liz Nichol, by a single point.
Balls down the line went to Smith, Rosemary Belcher and Chantal Butcher 35 points, Jan Hornell and Milne 34.
Nearest the pin on the third hole went to Jenny Fishburn, Helen Holcombe saluted on the sixth, and Fonda was nearest the pin on the 16th.
The longest putt on the 13th was holed by Venita Mibus, and the closest second shot on the 15th went to Ath Archer.
Tuesday
THE Tuesday morning emerging and beginner golfers enjoyed the lovely conditions with some very handy scores being recorded.
In the emerging group, Alan McLaughlin won on a countback from Hornell after both finished their rounds with 17 points.
In the beginner group, Louise Field topped the scores with an impressive 29 points, with Grant Hornell one point behind on 28, Judy Ford finished with 27 and Kris Fox collected 25 points.
