SATURDAY’S event at Parklands Golf Club was an 18-hole par and Ron Oakley topped the scores with +3, two clear of runner-up, Bruce Taylor.
Barry Oldaker finished square and claimed third on a countback from Dale Grambeau, with Graeme Torney fifth with -1.
Nearest the pins went to Taylor on the second and fifth, Mark Miller on the third, Oakley on the 11th and 13th, and Marie Cook on the 15th.
Longest putts were holed by Taylor on the first, Steve Nattrass on the 16th, Grambeau on the 17th, and Heather Wilkinson on the 18th.
Birdies and ferrets went to Terry Rhook, while Cook struck the longest, straightest drive on the ninth.
Friday
THE nine-hole stroke round was played over the old nine-hole course and Stewart Turner held off fierce competition, winning by half a point after posting 33, finishing just ahead of Les Pye and Peter Irvin who both returned 33.5.
Age and wisdom does count for something in golf, as Les Pye won nearest the pins on the second and 13th, along with the longest putt on the first.
Birdies and ferrets went to Taylor.
Wednesday
THE midweek 12-hole stableford event saw a tight finish, proving the handicapping system works as intended.
Taylor topped the scores with 24 points, winning on a countback from John Wilkinson, while Oldaker was third with 22 points.
Nearest the pins went to Taylor on the second and 15th.
Longest putt went to Oldaker, along with the birdies and ferrets.
Tuesday
IT was a Mystery Round on Tuesday, with players contesting a fun round of golf with a Par 3 event playing off the 150 markers.
Gaye Goggin claimed the top score with a nett 48, two shots clear of runner-up, Mary McCallum, with a nett 50.
Nearest the pin on the 15th was Kelly Hitchcock, while longest putts went to Heather Hay on the first, Cook on the 17th and McCallum on the 18th.
