FIFTY men participated in the final round of the Rountree Hyslop Cup.
Winners on the day were Tom and Jack Sobey with +12 on a countback from Rob Harris and John Sharrock, with Troy and Zach Elliott coming in third place on +9.
Balls down the line went to Bruce Luhrs and Peter Fox, Phil Schultz and Noel Jennings +9, Mal Groves and Graham Rentsch +8, Ross Murray and Cameron McDonald, Kim Fielke and Andrew Bowman +7
Nearest the pin on the third and superpin winner was Rob Fishburn taking home $76, the sixth went to Bruce Luhrs, John Ramond on the 13th, and Ross Murray was closest on the 16th.
Trevor Haley hit the closest second shot on the ninth and Graham Rentsch saluted on the 15th.
The overall results of the Rountree Hyslop Cup is an aggregate of two rounds of 4BBB par, and the Sobey father-son combination took home the cup with a fabulous aggregate score of +25.
Runners-up were Troy and Zach Elliott +20, while third place went to Stephen Astbury and Chris Crane on +14.
Seventeen women played stableford and Jen Pike had a day out, finishing with 41 points, which included two wipes.
Runner-up was Robyn Holcombe on 38 points.
Balls down the line went to Pam White, Sue Vickery 37, Cheryl Brinkmann, Jenny Fishburn 36, and Sally Warburton 35.
Nearest the pin on the third went to Sue Vickery, while Vicki Anderson took out the 16th hole.
Wednesday
THE golf course was a sea of pink on Wednesday with 96 women participating in our annual Pink Day fundraiser for breast cancer.
There were some very good scores with Jeanette Carmichael combining with Mel Lewis to take out top spot with 54 points.
Runners-up were Pam King and Jen Upton recorded 50 points, while third spot went to Lisa Murphy and Joan Lewis 49, fourth was Kerryn Price and Chantal Butcher 48 on a countback from fifth-placed Margie Hadley and Dawn Cay.
Nearest the pin on the third Chantal Butcher (local) and Lil Mayer (visitor), the sixth went to Rachel Slade, while the 16th to Di Raymond and Denise Newell.
The longest putt on the 13th went to Jeanette Carmichael and Heather Wilkinson.
Closest to the string on fifth hole was Mayer (A grade), Cheryl Brinkmann and Tracey Dark (B grade), and Elaine Rentsch and Heather Fleming (C grade).
Tuesday
IT was another good turnout for our beginners and emerging golfers.
In the beginner group, Grant Hornell continued his form to finish with a fantastic 30 points to win from Cate Mercer-Grant on 16.
In the emerging group, Nan Templeton won with 23 points from Alan McLaughlin 19, while Joanna Austin, Karyn Dyson and Jan Hornell all finished with 18.

A REMINDER that we have twilight golf on Wednesdays, hitting off 3pm onwards.
The weekly event is open to men and women - members $12 and non-members $17 - price includes one beer.
Bookings can be made online through one golf or by contacting the clubhouse.
Tomorrow there will be a four-person ambrose (any combination) which is also a Pink Day fundraiser.
On Melbourne Cup Day, the Club will be holding a two-person pinehurst event for men and women, with a 9am for 9:30am shotgun start, with a light lunch to follow; cost is $60 a pair.
Our annual tournament is being held next month, commencing with a women’s stroke event on November 20, with a men’s and women’s 4BBB par event two days later.
The Saturday event will be a mixture of men’s stroke 36-hole championship, as well as 18-hole stableford events for men and women, with the tournament finishing on November 24 with a four-person gentsomes event.
Today is a stableford event for men and women.
