HAWKESDALE-MACARTHUR is celebrating its latest victory, with Madison Kelly winning the Mininera and District Netball Association 2023 A grade best and fairest honour on Wednesday night.
Kelly was instrumental for the Eagles this season in goals, dominating to ensure Hawkesdale-Macarthur finished third on the ladder.
Kelly won the award with 27 votes, well clear of Rachael Mibus (Penshurst) on 21 votes and Faith Biddle (Ararat) in third place a further two votes back on 19 votes.
Having joined the Eagles three years ago after joining friends at the club, Kelly has continued to improve her individual performances with each passing season.
“I joined Hawkesdale-Macarthur to play with friends and its such an amazing club with the way they welcomed not only myself but all people,” Kelly said.
“I will definitely be staying at the Eagles next season.
“Josie Barker and Sarah Madden, my coaches, have encouraged me to play my way and display our skills and I cannot thank them enough.
“This is my first league best and fairest and I’m thrilled to win the award.
“I was four votes clear at the start of the last round of votes, so I couldn’t lose, but up till then it was still anyone’s.”
Kelly was awarded best-on-court in five games and grabbed the two votes in another six games to be the clear winner.
