TWELVE months after beginning his riding career at Coleraine, gun apprentice Will Price returned on Saturday to claim the club’s feature event.

Riding the Nick Smart trained Silent Command, Price timed to his run to perfection when defeating Rivet Delight by one length in the $45,000 bet 365 Top Tote Plus Coleraine Cup.

With more than 90 winners during his first year of race riding, Price’s achievements earned him the 2019-20 Country Jockey Apprentice of the Year.

Apprenticed to his uncle Dan O’Sullivan, the win on Silent Command also had another significant family attachment.
