DURABLE gelding, Tough Vic, looks the horse to beat in the Penshurst Cup on Saturday.
The seven-year-old has been in excellent form since transferring to trainer Adam Chambers throughout 2020.
Five wins during the year and mostly with big weights has seen the horse progress from lower benchmark grade to country cup levels.
Possibly his best career run came last start when he finished fourth at Flemington at BM84 level behind Somerset Maugham.
Beaten by just over three lengths, that form clearly makes him the horse to beat in this year’s cup on Boxing Day.
Neil Farley retains the ride and despite the 62kg, he will start an odds-on favourite and should win given even luck.
