LOCAL harness racing driver, Jackie Barker, has picked up her 200th career win at Terang this week.
The 25-year-old saluted in race two, guiding the Jim Barker trained Johnny Redcoat to victory and in a nice touch, it was the same gelding which gave Barker her first career win.
The romance of the occasion was not lost on Barker, who didn’t even know the milestone was approaching.
“It was awesome, I didn’t even know I was close to 200,” she said.
“It was a nice surprise when I got told after the race and it was even better that it was on one of Pop’s horses.
“He actually gave me my first win.”
