FOLLOWING an overwhelming majority of respondents to a community survey, Southern Grampians Shire Council (SGSC) voted on Wednesday evening to shift the EV charging station to Hamilton Place next to the Hamilton Visitor Information Centre (VIC).

Council discussed the subject at the September council meeting hoping to bring the matter to rest in a way that would satisfy the community; the issue became a hot topic after The Spectator published a letter on May 17 from the local RSL objecting to the original site in Beersheba Memorial Park, only metres away from local war memorials on Lonsdale Street.
