TEN friends, three days and three different courses - Mortlake, East Framingham and Hawkesdale - it was the ultimate getaway for our Parkland lady golfers.

HAMILTON Golf Club’s ladies team was successful, winning the Morton Shield last week at Portland.

Parkland’s Golf Club is offering an opportunity to those who are interested in starting or re-starting rounds of golf socially.

ATTENTION all you fair weather golfers, now we are into the last month of spring it is time to dust off your clubs and hit the fairways before we hear the plaintiff cry of “it’s too hot to play”.

WITH the course in magnificent condition, and the lovely spring weather, it was great to see a good field of 73 men and 17 women playing stableford on Saturday.

“THERE’S probably not many other sports similar to it – I think golf would be one, though; we don’t think on our feet like hockey or footy or AFL or anything like that. You play a shot and then you’ve got downtime. You switch on, switch off, and you try to have processes in order to do that successfully.”

A GOOD field of 65 men played in Saturday’s stableford event with some fabulous scores returned.

AFTER our recent rain and sunshine, the golf course is looking a picture of rolling green grass and magnificent gum trees.

FIFTY men participated in the final round of the Rountree Hyslop Cup on Saturday, while Wednesday saw plenty of women on the course for the Pink Day fundraiser.

LOCAL Parkland players continued their pursuit of the coveted SPECTATOR Trophy on Tuesday, with the best individual score of the day going to Kelly Hitchcock with 32points.
