PARKLANDS Golf Course is becoming a hive of activity as our Volunteer Workers prepare it for the upcoming State Sandgreen Championships to be held on August 28 and 29.

PARKLANDS Golf Club ladies now have their own definition of endurance - being able to play an 18-hole round of golf on five consecutive days without appearing to tire.

WITH wintry conditions, it was certainly more challenging out on the course during Saturday’s Monthly Medal stroke round.

NOW the days are shortening and we have had some rain, the Parklands fairways are revealing an emerging flush of green which is delighting all players as there is not as much run for the ball.

A FIELD of 59 men and 20 ladies took to the course last Saturday for a stableford round.

THE purpose of a golf handicap system has always been to attempt to level the playing field for golfers of differing abilities, while some have struggled under the weight of their new handicap, Alan Hitchcock has continued his good recent form and claimed victory.

A FIELD of 52 men and 13 women played in the Saturday stableford competition.

ON Saturday the Parklands Golf Club welcomed a large contingent of visitors from Macarthur for the annual Macarthur Challenge.

WITH a lot of members away a smaller field of 39 men and four women played an Easter Saturday stableford event.
