AS THE 1990 Cats celebrated their reunion, the Casterton Sandford executive issued notice of a special general meeting, calling for members to vote on a motion proposing a move to the Mid South East Football Netball League (MSEFNL) for the 2023 season.
SOME exceptional netball came to Island Park on Saturday and while the Cats recorded equal wins and losses across all games, tight scorelines – including the 11 & Under girls who went down by just two goals – made for great spectator sport.
AFTER an outstanding performance at last week’s SA country football representative championships, Casterton’s Zhane Crawford is back in the spotlight, named best on ground in the Hamilton Kangaroos’ history-making premiership win at the weekend.
THE Casterton Racing Club is confident Victorian jumps racing and the Two Rivers Steeplechase are here to stay after South Australia’s government passed legislation banning the sport.
THE typical Casterton is a 58-year-old woman of Australian birth and English ancestry - but that's only part of the picture of a town which is slowly growing, ageing and becoming more culturally diverse.
